ParticipantA friend of mine bought a Vaya from Spokes, Etc. They have them listed in their online catalogue as well.
Bikenetic in Falls Church can get them too.

ParticipantI know that Spokes stocks some in the store which means they should be able to order them. I think that non-dealers can order them after the dealers get their allotments for the year but I’m not 100% sure how it works.

Does anyone know if any dealer that has a QBP account can order Salsa frames?
Yes. Salsa is a QBP brand.

ParticipantFound out, all QBP shops can order parts but only Dealers can order frames or bikes. Just going to go buy my second choice, a Fuel EX 29er.

Things I did not know – according to their website there are no Salsa dealers in the immediate DC area. Trail’s End in Purcellville is the closest. Although for a multi-thousand-dollar purchase, I’d be willing to drive there.

ParticipantYou can probably buy this frame online from universalcycles too? And get price matching and 15% off purchases over $300.

Their web site seems inaccurate (not uncommon). I know spokes stocks at least Fargo and Vaya.

ParticipantWhen I was at Spokes on Quaker lane last year looking for a Surly one of the salesmen kept pushing me to try a Salsa Vaya, even though they don’t make the bike in my size. So like mstone said, they at least have 2 models in the store.

ParticipantI bought my Salsa Pistola at Spokes Etc on Quaker Lane, prior year model three years ago, so I don’t know what they do now. I thought I saw the Salsa dealer decal in the Bikenetics window.

I want to buy my next frame/bike from a local shop. Having to ship or drive hours for warranty issues when the frame breaks, is such a hassle.

I am going to ride over to spokes and Bikenetics this weekend.
I am also emailing Salsa about an updated bike/frame dealer list.

Bikenetic would be a great place to get the bike especially if service is important to you since they offer free lifetime maintenance on bikes they sell. Note though that they are closed through Jan 1. Silly guys want to go for a bike ride or something.
