Not a rumor, but an actual posting by Pete on his Facebook page. :( :( He’s looking for someone to lead the Mosaic rides.

Yeah, he was pushed off the road by an idiot driver and went down and broke his wrist. He’s in good spirits, as always, though I’m sure he’s bummed he can’t ride his bikes. I imagine his catrike will be pulled out of storage; if theres one thing I know about Pete, its that he won’t be long without pedaling something around. :)

Dirt/Pete, I think if Barry Cofield can play with a broken hand that you can ride with one arm! jk. Hope it heals quick

Pete, I just read on nbcnews.com that there is now Hello Kitty beer. Seriously!

Edit: Oops, missed the first post in this thread!

You know what they say, “no photos, then it didn’t happen!” ;)

I’m going to write this once. It is hard to type.

Monday morning I was riding along N Street in Georgetown on my fixie…. road with cars parked on both sides. A car came around me to pass, but misjudged how fast i was going. They swerved back to the right side of the road to avoid an oncoming car. Unfortunately they had not cleared completely past me. It happened very quickly… I got crowded into a storm drain. the handlebars twisted quickly to the right and I crashed on my right side. The driver didn’t stop. I didn’t get a plate number.

Police came quickly and I gave my report. 2 things make it so nothing will come of this: 1) I didn’t get a plate number; and b) the car didn’t make contact with me.

End result: The bars twisting broke a bone in my wrist before I hit the ground. I’ve got a few bruises and scrapes. I get more info on the wrist tomorrow when I meet my orthopedist.

I’m completely off the bike. Luckily I’ve got a recumbent trike. See you on the trails!

    Thanks, y’all.

Even from a recumbent trike, Pete can take downward angle pictures of you riding behind him.

    Heal quickly!

I think everyone missed the point of my stealth link.

And Pete, heal quickly. Ironic that the tandem mountain bike was not involved in the bone-breaking crash.
