Time to start a new thread for FS 2019. If you’re planning a ride, gathering, or other event for your team (or for all FS participants and friends) and want to invite along anyone who would like to come, post details here. Also, post it on the FS Calendar. If you need editing rights to the calendar, talk to Steve O.

    I’ll go first.

New Year’s Day ride to see holiday light installations

    When: Tuesday, January 1, 2019, starting at 4:30 p.m.
Where: The Grounds, 1102 S. Eads St., Arlington VA 22202. (I’ll be at the Whole Foods across the street starting at 4:00 p.m. if anyone wants to grab coffee beforehand.)
What: Ride to see three sets of holiday light installations: Impulse in Crystal City, some of the installations at Georgetown GLOW, and Light Yards at Yards Park. The route is at https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29098440. Social pace (12-15 mph), no drop. Afterward, I’ll probably stop for dinner somewhere in Navy Yard before heading back to NoVa.
Who: Anyone who wants in on the fun.

Okay, schedule re-arranged so I can join in. We are doing gravel on Sunday since it will be warmer. Let me know if you need/want assistance with routing since you will be in my hood. :)

    Frosty Mugs with Squadra Frosty

Team 5 will host happy hour in the basement of Meridian Pint (3400 11th Street NW 20010) this coming Wednesday (1/30). I’ll plan to arrive at 6pm and am told that the bar has a fine selection of taps that will surely keep me entertained until at least 8.

11th Street is a great strip of bars, restaurants, and row houses, and is very cycling-friendly. I think of it as a low-key version of U Street.

This is a great chance to meet the riders behind the team that will be gradually ascending past yours in the rankings.

Hi All! Hope you can make Saturday’s beer-Ride! The route link is below (thanks so Sunyata for your help!). We’ll be riding past the Falls Church Distillery for those who are Spiritnuering, & anyone who wants to hit a 4th brewery at the end, Caboose is just a bit further. Food is available at both Mad Fox & Settle Down breweries.

I’ll be at Best Buns a little before 10am if you’d like to get a coffee/snack. Wheels down at 10:15am. Looking forward to seeing you!
