I dont know if this is the right place to post but I hop you all dont mind. I’ve been riding for a couple of years now. Just got to a 1000 miles for this year. I got a new bike and was hoping to improve my rides. I try and ride 2-3 times in the morning at Hains point before work and then Saturday and Sunday either in Rock Creek or ride out to Mt. Vernon.

I think I have plateaued out on my performance on a bike. I was hoping to see if anyone on here is in the mid-beginner range and would like to ride together? I start riding on the weekdays at Hains around 5:30 am and do an hours worth of laps, weekends I am flexible but try and get the riding done early.

Again, sorry if this is not the right place to post and this is just my third post here but I am doing all I can to keep myself motivated.

    Check out Potomac Pedalers: http://www.potomacpedalers.org/events/event_list.asp

They have a variety of levels of rides.

Check out Meetup.com. There are a ton of cycling groups on there that host group rides at every level from beginner to advanced, to rides that are more focused on the social aspect to hard core types. This group covers a wide range and is well run. There is also the WABA group that focuses on women and hosts group rides as well. Good luck!

Just start striking up conversations with others riding the same direction your riding. They are more likely to have a similar routine which makes future rides easier to join. Many cyclist are creatures of habit. Everyday I see the same people at the same place and at the same time. Once you notice the patterns, it’s easy to build connections that make riding even more fun and motivating
