You can pick a different seed city / proximity and tweak the distance and elevation sliders to get a better list for your trip (I used 20-50 miles and 100-1000 feet – if you leave the minimum elevation at zero you’ll get a lot of routes that are simply missing elevation data).
Once I have a list of results, I like to order them by distance or elevation and look at the map thumbnails to see routes that have multiple copies. These are often group rides or event routes, which are more likely to be better planned.
(I paid for a “Basic” subscription to RideWithGps years ago and have never regretted it – though this is the first year I’ve really made good use of the upgrade features.)
