I thought about buying some recently but decided against it. It’s not clear to me how well they’ll hold up over time, especially in crummy weather. (DC Rainmaker says he’ll update on this point.) Also it wasn’t clear to me how hard it is to change a tire with all that stuff on. In the end I also wasn’t convinced that this would add a lot more visibility over the conventional lights I have now combined with the my Niteize lights on the spokes. But I’m definitely willing to change my mind.

I don’t want it to replace my current lighting setup, I like it for the cool factor!

These are really cool, but at $250? Not THAT cool. I’m sure I spend that much money a month on mocha lattes, but I definitely won’t give up my lattes for a month for these. Hell no.

Thanks for the article link. I’ve been curious about these since I first saw the kickstarter promo video.

It’s a little bit too novelty for me since it’s not going to light up enough dark pavement to see a good distance in front of you (some streets in my area have very little lighting). The hub mounted battery is a bit clumsy, but their site does mention a future hub dynamo powered possibility.

That said, imagine what a group of riders with these on doing Hains Pt at night would look like!

I can’t wait to see someone with these and a set of aero bars. ELITE

Are the reviews on DC Rainmaker still applicable to us since he no longer lives in Northern Virginia? Light is different over there in Paris. Not better. Just different.

Well, we do listen to Greenbelt, Certifired, and some other lost souls who don’t live in Northern Virginia…

(Okay, we pretend to listen to them.)
