The place you go to authorize Freezing Saddles to read your miles (https://freezingsaddles.org/authorize) is down today. Given that the registration deadline is the earlier of December 24 or 250 registrations, anyone wanting to register should do the following:
- Go to your Strava dashboard. Click on your picture. That will take you to your profile page, which will have a URL like https://www.strava.com/athletes/3487165. In this example, your Strava number (which you will need for the registration form) would be 3487165. (Please do not use that particular Strava number, though, since it’s mine.)
- Once the site comes back up, you’ll still need to go to https://freezingsaddles.org/authorize some time before the competition starts, so that your miles can get counted for the competition.
Also, as a reminder, we still have people omitting steps while registering, which means their registrations will get tossed unless they contact me at freezingsaddles@freezingsaddles.x10host.com. The most common errors:
- Not filling out the registration form. The only people who should be members of the Freezing Saddles 2019 Strava club without registering are people who intend to be “Friends of Freezing Saddles,” formerly known as Slackers. However, there are 270 members of that club, and only 171 people have registered.
- Not clicking on the link in the e-mail asking you to confirm your e-mail address. (If you didn’t get that e-mail, or have thrown it out, please e-mail me.)
- Not registering for this forum.
- Not posting on this forum. If you haven’t posted because your registration has not yet been approved, please send a private message to Henry. If you haven’t posted for any other reason, you’ll need to post. If you have posted, but your post is still awaiting approval, please send a private message to Henry. And if you have now posted, but said on your registration form that you had not, please e-mail me.
All of these problems can get solved if you e-mail me. As others can attest, I respond promptly. However, you will not be assigned to a team if they are not fixed.
