I keep seeing pics of folks playing on the Reflecting Pool on the Mall which makes me think: forget Hains Point laps, there oughta be a pointless prize for greatest distance ridden on the Reflecting Pool…

I attempted to ride across the reflecting pool on my way home. More like slipping as I couldn’t get any traction unless I was on the edge with the snowy patches. I can confirm that the ice is thick enough to walk, ice skate, or bike all the way across.

I do think drevil was on studded tires (it sounded like studs, anyway, in the video). Which makes riding on ice possible. But … it would still be true that drevil makes many difficult things look easy.

Yes, I was using studs, which made it look easy (because it was). If I didn’t have them, I most likely would not have ridden on the ice for that long/far. I’ve tried a few times before, but I don’t heal as fast nowadays

Today’s ice ride didn’t go as well as a few days ago. The solid ice from a few days ago got very thin and cracked easily.
