In Chicago there were several pull-up stations along the lakefront and in nearby parks. Used to love to squeeze in some upper body work on my rides – on good days I wouldn’t even unclip, I’d just pull the bike up with me. Ah, youth…

That site lists a few other possibilities too, just gotta search or scan the map.

Also, I am pretty certain on the 4MRT in Shirlington (along S. Arlington Mill Dr), one of those stations (and it might be the one closest to Walter Reed) is a pull-up bar or can be used as one.

I know this is OT, but I’m stumped. Trying to help a cyclist find a pull-up bar anywhere in South Arlington (or Del Ray). He’s basically keeping his gym membership alive for a pull-up bar.

I thought there used to be one near Four Mile Run, but can’t find it.

Yeah, as DrP points out, there are pull-up bars on 4MRT in Shirlington. There’s also one at Mace Park at 4MRT and Patrick Henry Dr.

But tell your friend to stop that nonsense; pull ups won’t make him faster!

I am almost positive there is one along the Potomac Yard trail between Monroe and E. Braddock. That’s right in Del Ray. They have a whole bunch of exercise stations on that segment that I see people using all the time.

There definitely is (or was, last time I was through there). Assuming this works, here’s the Google Street View of the station with the pull-up/chin-up bar: https://www.google.com/maps/@38.8185628,-77.0513783,3a,21.4y,115.43h,82.85t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sSqxYKPwHCy-l7RZrL1OEwQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
