I think I get the rudeness now. People hate being told that they are wrong or dumb. So take the rudeness as vindication, Dirt. And thanks for doing your part.

There may be an opportunity for some outreach with some runners clubs. While that might be limited to the most involved (responsible?) in the group, it may be a start. I’d think some topical materials in bike and running shops might help as well. It seems that good trails benefit everybody.

Exactly. No matter how nicely you try to tell the, people don’t want to hear it. Pulling off to the side and becoming a trailside distributor seems to be the answer. I’ll just become a regular fixture there during the week. You’re welcome. Rock on!

My gloves have a reflective thumb. I have no idea whether that’s useful.

Ninjas on the trail are bad enough, but lately these idiots have decided that they’re too good for sidewalks and are all over the streets. Bad enough to hit one on a bike, I really don’t want to run over one with a car.

When we visited Arizona, virtually all the pre-dawn joggers (and nobody wants to jog once the sun comes up, so there are lots of them along the water channels) were religious about reflective gear and most wore front and rear lights or headlamps.

I don’t understand why that ethic hasn’t taken hold here. Great that you guys are handing out reflectors, cussing or not. After a point though, I suppose all we can do is light our biking selves up really well and hope the runners take the hint?

Well I don’t think there are any blinking LED’s with a big white G on it. Maybe if someone made a Georgetown reflective band or LED, it would help.

I have my theories, but there’s nothing I can do about it, so I love them anyways. Hopefully my quest to get rid of their ninja status will help them in other ways too.

I will say this… Things have gotten much better over the years. There are fewer ninjas and many of them actually can be converted.
