I guess I’ve done four actual centuries so far this year as follows:

    1. Goshen Pass Randonee. Highly recommended for next year.

    2. Kill Bill. Enough Said. May 30th.

    3. Friday Coffee ride then the long way home. Because why not. July 1

    4. Friday Wine and Gravel Hooky Ride: July 8.
    https://www.strava.com/activities/634577685

Lots of other 70-90 mile rides. Guess I should start turning those into centuries if I really want to get to 10.

I didn’t ride a single century in August as it was just too hot. I got close twice but cut them down to “short” 80-90 milers and just couldn’t motivate for those last few miles. September has been a little better though so let me add to this list.

    5. Friday sunrise to sunset ride: https://www.strava.com/activities/706450357.
A little jaunt to, through the lovely gravel, and from Loudoun county with a winery or two thrown in for good measure. Friday’s are the best days.

    6. My first sub-six hour century courtesy of the Liscio and some strong pulls by Dirt, PeteD and TinaP. https://www.strava.com/activities/722488674.
Another great Friday Loudoun adventure. This time we actually stuck to (mostly) paved surfaces rather than gravel. Interesting for a change of pace but gravel is still my fav.

Now I feel like a total loser. Thanks Eric.

Seriously though. Huge props. Your riding this year has been phenomenal and inspiring to watch (Subby, note you can just WATCH Eric ride)!

Can’t wait to see what you have on-tap next!

Century 11: Twin Lights Ride in Highlands, NJ: I won’t be repeating this one. Only two to three portapotties at the rest stops, high traffic roads, lots of potholes and rough pavement on the route and missed opportunity to ride along the beach more. Komorebi accused me of just being cranky. The previous days ride along Delaware and Raritan Canal was awesome.

Century 12: Seagull Century: After being cancelled last year because of Hurricane Joaquin, this year’s ride was endangered by Hurricane Matthew. The sky was overcast and misty the entire time with some brief light rain. My bike was covered in sand afterwards. It was the most “business” century I’ve done. I ended up pacelining with someone I met along the way for the last 60 miles. The wild ponies on Assateague were neat. I plan on convincing Komorebi and LSG to do some sort of ride to/from Assateague next year and up the coast somewheres.

I’m on a six month century streak.
    Next up:
Horrible Hundred in Cleremont, FL in November
    Hains Point 100 in December

    Gold star challenge complete!

Century #10: Backroads Century – Starting in Shepherdstown, WV which is a lovely town. I went up on Saturday with Komorebi and did the 35 mile ride through Antietam. I’d like to go back and ride through Antietam and read all of the plaques. This ride really is accurately named. Mostly back roads, some spots of bad pavement and potholes. From about mile 20 to mile 50 I felt like I was suffering at times and had to apply Rule 5. Highlights included multiple apple orchards, riding along the river, seeing a cow in the middle of a pond and the frozen ice at the end. Saw Tania at the end and saw Felipe doing some marshaling during the course. Missed Chris Watson and consularrider, who according to Strava were generally pulling into rest stops just as I was leaving.

Here’s a 124 miler based on the View Trail 100 in Worcester County, MD. Its one drawback was a lack of locations for food and water.

This challenge confuses me. Why does it start in March? Why does the imperial version have a metric climbing requirement, while the metric version has an imperial climbing requirement?

October imperial century is done, basically out the C&O to White’s Ferry and back the W&OD from Leesburg with a little more. That’s 10 months in 2016 and 70 consecutive months.

So modest stopping at 10 and not sharing the Indian Head ride which if I recall correctly was a double century day.

Nah, I just needed to get to bed. The first ten, I’ll add more later. I have four more so far, none in October yet.

November imperial century is done, Dia de los Muertos out and back the complete W&OD. That’s 11 months in 2016 and now 71 consecutive months.
