I got roped into this with the promise of shenanigans. Stupidly, I didn’t ask for clarification first.

In a more on-topic note: I will be completing TWO 100+ mile rides this month in addition to a couple of 100+ kilometre rides.
By the way, the final countdown to DK200 is on! 30 days to go!!! (EEEEEK!)

ParticipantI’m on a 13 month Century streak. The streak very nearly came to an end this month. A planned century in Jamestown in early May was cut short when my body quit on me (which was followed by a 13 hour sleep). I set out on Sunday to do a century and then it rained really hard after the 10% chance of .01 inches of rain became a 100% chance of a downpour. I went to Mike’s for pancakes yesterday resigned with the fact that the streak was over. I wasn’t feeling good and I had my mountain bike shorts on and my bike was filthy and squeaking from the previous days rainstorm. Then Birru was like, “you could just ride down the W&OD for a bit.” Komorebi came with and was like, “We could get pie in Leesburg.” And so what was supposed to be a short trip for pancakes became a century ride. Kudos to Bill for the nudge and for Komorebi for riding 80 miles on her heavy gravel bike.

ParticipantGot my June 2017 century done for the summer solstice. I rode out the Vulkanradweg as far as Ilbeshausen-Hochwaldhausen. a lot like riding the W&OD from Leesburg to Clarks Gap but it keeps going and going and climbing and climbing. Then I hit the road and kept climbing up Taufstein in the Oberwald. A hot day for Germany (89°F high). Finished with 114.4 miles for the day. That’s now 78 months in a row.

ParticipantWell, Strava thinks I did a pair of centuries from my two day tour, but Garmin says only 99.73 miles total for Tuesday, July 18. Luckily I went beyond today and hit 106.28 miles to make seven months in 2017 and continue my streak to 79 consecutive months.

ParticipantJune Century – I did the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia in June. Wednesday was a “layover” day with optional rides up to a century. I broke a rear spoke about 60 miles in but was able to wrap it up and finish the ride.

July Century – Took advantage of the dip in temperatures in humidity to get the century in. It was an all day affair with some HP laps, helping Komorebi lift a heavy glass table top, and a bike ride pool party with TwoWheelsDC.

I’m on a 15 month century streak.

ParticipantI’m on a 16 month Century streak, just a mere 6 years and 2 months behind Chris. I did two centuries in August
Hamstering around Hains Point for 100 Miles which was joined by Robyne and Erin on their way back from a Nats game:
https://www.strava.com/activities/1132433564Surprise century with Erin in which we only discussed going to Green Lizard, and then “going a litter farther.”

ParticipantCyndi and I really didn’t plan to ride a century today before our five days/five rivers German bike tour, but we had a 12 hour mandatory evacuation to deal with a WWII era British bomb, so what else were we going to do? We combined elements of the GrunGurtel route with the Mainradweg to Hanau and Aschaffenburg and then hit three weinguts at the Frankfurt Rheingau Wein Festival, trying six different wines. 103.47 miles, and tomorrow we head out for about 230 miles over the five days.

Best use of an unexpected evacuation EVER.

ParticipantGot October done today by turning the “official” 53 mile route of Day One of the CIBA Hilly Hundred into a 100.34 mile ride, getting home just before the torrential rains came. I may stick to the “official” 54 mile route tomorrow. That is 10 of 10 months in 2017 and my 82nd consecutive month.

ParticipantDia de los Muertos and time to ride (at least) your age on your birthday. Out and back on the W&OD with CBGAnimal with stops at Best Buns, Green Lizard Cycling, Bicycles and Coffee, Döner Bistro, 7-11 Reston, and Bikenetic. 103.16 miles making 11 months in 2017 and working on an 83 month consecutive strak.

ParticipantIs anyone else still playing? I got a 101 mile ride in on 12/6/17 riding to three Weinachtmarkts along the Main/Rhine. Mainz, Frankfurt and Hanau. Then today I got my January 2018 century done doing a loop south from Frankfurt through the Odenwald and over close to Worms for 112 miles. That’s 85 consecutive months now.
February I did one century on 2/18 (102.16 miles) west and south of Frankfurt and one (104.80miles) on 2/27 riding out the W&OD to Purcellville.
I did my March century (114.32 miles) combining several Radwegs into a loop north and east of Frankfurt.
I’m now at 87 consecutive months.
April century finished on 4/9, 117.63 miles. Mainradweg from Frankfurt to Mainz, Rheinradweg from Mainz to Worms, a mix of roads and trails back via Darmstadt.
That’s now 88 consecutive months.
