    Dear Freezing Saddles Participants:

    Who knew that the biggest storm of the season would take place AFTER our competition ended?! In the interest of safety, we are postponing the End-of-Season Celebration and Prize Ceremony until Monday April 9. Even though the roads remain relatively clear in Arlington as of 8 a.m., the prediction is still calling for substantial accumulation, ice and high winds (up to 40 mph) later in the day. Some nearby localities already have several inches of snow. The federal government and all of the regional school systems have shut down, as have many public transit services.

    We regret having to postpone the celebrations, as we realize that many people have been holding this date for months and some even flew in for the ceremonies.
    Please mark your calendars with the new date: Monday April 9 at 6 pm at Bier Baron in DC.

    Hi all — I know that some folks had talked about going to Bier Baron tonight (March 21) if they could make it there safely.
    I just wanted to confirm that Bier Baron will be open tonight until 9 pm in case anyone is still planning to venture over there for an informal happy hour.

    Have fun, be safe, and drink an ounce or two for me.

    Chime in if you are going, I am pondering driving in if I know some FS diehards will be there informally ending the fun. Kate

    Looks like some people are already at Meridian Pint (https://twitter.com/kaplajk/status/976495925869850628 …read the whole thread…). I can’t make it, but I hope everyone who can has fun!

    So I guess this means Freezing Saddles is reactivated until April 9. The game is on!
