    December Pedals ‘N’ Pints

    Port City Brewing Company
3950 Wheeler Avenue Alexandria, VA 22304

Be a part of Port City’s Pedals ‘N’ Pints – Ugly Holiday Sweater Edition! We will work up a thirst and return to plentiful brews and food from DC Slices. Please arrive at the brewery early to get set up and ready to go! Bring out your best Ugly Holiday Sweater on Saturday, December 20th, the ride starts from the brewery at 11am.

It will be a little more than a 10-mile route from the front door of the Tasting Room out to the park, up to NVCC and back. There’s one slight climb, but otherwise the ride is open to all level of bicyclists. Mountain, cyclocross, or “hybrid” bikes are perfect for this ride. Due to debris on the path and the occasional patch of gravel or dirt, road bikes are possible, but not recommended.

Bicycle Pro Shop will be out with a shop tent and basic tools to assist riders with small repairs and on hand during the ride to assist with any mechanical issues.

All participants will need to sign a waiver beforehand. Any riders 14 years old and younger are required to wear a helmet, per law, but all riders are encouraged to wear helmets.

Feel free to reach back out to me if you have any questions.
    Thanks,

    Andrea Wilkinson
Port City Beer Guide, Head of Bike Committee

Well SOME of us crossed Seminary on our ride to the brewery to begin the group ride ;) I drank a porter, and got an IPA straight from the tank when I went on the brewery tour. I think I am going to adopt PCB as my local brewery (shouldn’t everyone have one?) though Cap City is actually closer to where I live.

This is only the third organized group ride I’ve been on, and the first that was not organized by WABA so I can’t judge well. The folks from Pro Shop did carefully make sure everyone was safe and no one was left behind.

And at least a hundred bonus PRO points for rocking the sunglasses upside-down like he just came off the podium.

I was there (braids, Raleigh belt drive, blue pannier)! Sorry that I did not get a chance to put forum names with faces (I was REALLY excited about the beer!).

The ride itself was a lot of fun and I enjoyed meeting some new cyclists and talking a couple of the mountain bikers into coming out to the SMT Spring Festival in Stokesville over Memorial Day! 😎
