ParticipantWoohoo! I might actually be able to make it out for this one! 😎

ParticipantI live close to NVCC – is there any way I can join the ride there? (I would join the ride at the brewery and leave at NVCC, but I presume consumption of Port City’s fine products will be involved, and I would hardly want to do that before an 11AM ride)

Yes feel free to join us along the route!
If the weather is looking real miserable we will call it Friday night. In that case you can still bring your sweaters to the brewery for a pint when we open at noon!

Knowing this crowd, if the weather is so bad the ride gets cancelled, we’ll all ride to the brewery for the Noon opening.

Yep. I have a group of three coming… Even if the weather is a little iffy.

Thanks. If the weather is good, and my wife is still out of town, I will probably try to ride to the brewery, do the round trip with y’all, and then ride home. If the weather is good but I have less time, I will probably try to meet y’all around NVCC (I presume you will be coming in on Dawes?) and ride with the group to the brewery. If the ride is cancelled but conditions are not beyond my aspiration for rule #5, I will probably ride to the brewery and put my bike on the Dash bus back.

ParticipantI sure do wish the meteorologists would make up their minds! The forecast keeps changing…
So, as it stands now, Saturday is going to be nice and Sunday is going to be potentially miserable (although it says mostly sunny with a 30% change of frozen mix?).
Either way, I am looking forward to a fun ride and some tasty brews!

Reminds me of a joke I heard recently, in which a disaffected viewer of the local weather forecast asks the weatherman to help him shovel 6″ of partly cloudy from his driveway.

ParticipantArghh, got stuck waiting for the fix-it men to show up at my apartment this morning and couldn’t go. Grrrrr Hope y’all had fun.

ParticipantGreat ride. About two dozen people rode. Kwl and myself from here. I could have done without going under the fallen tree on the Holmes run trail but generally the ride was well marshalled. The beer was excellent and the atmosphere very nice. I also got to chat with Randy (handle? ) of BPAC about advocacy stuff.

Participantmissed this one, too – was hoping to get back from this morning’s ride in time, but we decided to do an extra 30 minute loop. Sounds like it was pretty fun – how was the food?

The DC Slices pizza was pretty good. We had the buffalo chicken plus a side of Old Bay tator tots. The beer, of course, was excellent. For the freebie first draft we chose the Maniacal IPA. Went on to a 6oz Long Black Veil black IPA and for me a 6oz pale ale with the pizza. I took home a growler of Colossal Two smoked porter.
But wait, it wasn’t all about the beer & food. The folks from the Pro Shop lead a nice ride. Everyone was watched over and accommodated. The route has been improved, as there is now no crossing of Seminary Road, which was a big pain in the a**. The only casualty was my son, who dumped it on the transition from the street to the Port City driveway on the last two feet of the ride. Pride was the only damage.
It was great to spend some time with Mr. L.O. Themark. He convinced me I need to stop by Best Buns next Wednesday morning for coffee.
And this is what kind of ride this was…
