Last year I attached the ankle band to my helmet.

How about a reflective snow flake?

I would also favor pink, or some color other than orange or yellow/green, so that participants can more easily recognize each other.

I vote for ankle bracelet that is a different color. Otherwise, to be honest, I think the Green with no change but the year might be a tough sell. How about ORANGE or SCREAMING YELLOW?

Agree with this. I have several of last year’s model and likely will not buy a new one if only the year changes. Additionally, changing color would provide a little easier identification of those participating this year, vice having last year’s still in use.

[emoji848] Are your pix posting correctly? I’m confused – and I bet you meant to post something that’s easier to read.

You said you were planning to stick to neon green. Buuuuuut if you’re open to suggestions, the only thing I’d like changed is to a different color. Orange preferably.
If that’s not possible, can you change the font to as in the attached pic?

It was my usual attempt to be funny, but falling flat
By making the font orange, ginormous, and squished together, it covers up the green and the band essentially becomes orange. 😮

Planned obsolescence? Sad!

I’d like to commission a pool noodle with custom Freezing Saddles artwork (black sharpie on foam should work) by LeprosyStudyGroup.
This would really increase participation in the Freezing Saddles Jousting side bet.

Far from it. Make them collectibles and use them for bragging rights. Stack them on your leg (or other location) to show how long you’ve been playing!

[emoji38] I vote for Josh’s idea. Hahaha give us THREE FEET!
Also nice idea on the artwork by leprosy study group. That would give it an awesome personalized touch. I bet he’d do it, too…. If enough of us wanted it.

ParticipantI want something I can wear on my wrists as well as ankles. Last year’s ankle bands were too big to wear on my wrists (they are great, however, for stabilizing my front wheel when I hang my bike on the wall). My vote is slap bands with LEDs. Whatever you go with, I think they should be PINK!

I’m often slow on the uptake when it comes to jokes like this (and perhaps in general), but understanding it now, it is quite funny!

ParticipantNeck buff/gaiter/warmer, though I recognize that without a sponsor this would too expensive an accessory

Surprisingly, it’s not that bad. My wife helped get some made for a women’s mountain bike event and I don’t think it costed too much (<$4/piece?). But you're right, without a sponsor, someone's going to have to front the money. I don’t think this is the company she used, but just a 5-second hit from a google search: https://welcome.hoorag.com/custom-neck-gaiters
No idea of how good they are, but they look decent.

ParticipantI floated the idea of neck warmers or buffs some years ago, but the consensus back then was that not enough people would wear them. Personally, I’ve acquired enough buffs, balaclavas, and facemasks at this point that I probably wouldn’t buy another one, either.
Also, I’m hearing a lot of calls to change the color of this year’s identifier. Are there no other traditionalists who want to stick with green?

Pure traditionalism: Any idiot riding a bicycle in freezing weather is most likely participating in Freezing Saddles.
