Based on what the guy was saying, he (and his scooter) apparently was just searched by the PO. The PO was very non-responsive to the guy (I was there about 90 seconds because the light had just changed), but did indicate he wasn’t going to conviscate the scooter, but was going to garage it to keep it “safe”.
In fairness to the police, there are multiple signs saying no motorized vehicles on the trail. And on the bright side, at least they weren’t ticketing cyclists.
