ParticipantI found this passage of the article interesting…..
“I work 50 hour weeks, sometimes more,” Johnson, who works at a tech company called Applico, wrote. “So I do that during the week, and then after that, I would go out at about 6:00 PM and stay out basically until I had to go home and pass out.”
Johnson is unmarried and lives in the basement of his mom. He shares his room with his cabbage patch kids collection.

ParticipantNo one showed for my Pokemon ride today. That was a test and you all scored 100.
All-Stars!

ParticipantThe worse part of this whole thing is the insane media coverage and focus of people on wanting to control other people’s actions and interests.

ParticipantAt Least the coverage is something beside political train wrecks and double digit “in the name of…” mass murders. Am not one to stick my head in the sand but a little change up in the news is good now and then. I think it is an interesting phenomenon with a unique mix of basic human elements blending in with tech based entertainment. This game is unique with a mix of vision and attention robbing screen AND personal movement in public space. Not a hard mental stretch to see someone getting a bit focused in the local park, stepping off a retaining wall and landing on something or someone.
Control of others or control of your use of public space? Speaking only for myself I have seen some young slow wobbly Pokers on every afternoon ride in the past week. A long throw “Onyerleft” and all is good. Just something else to add to the watch for list rather than a problem. “Inattentive people moving in fully random directions” gets added to the list right under “Inattentive people moving in somewhat the same direction of travel”. That same inattentive person in other places might cause a larger worry. Easy to say it is their worry but I don’t want to hit a screen faced kid with my truck regardless of fault.
I suspect it will evolve quite a bit. How and where will be interesting to watch.

I like this part too – assuming he was taking proper care of them when he went out on those nightly hunting expeditions.
“Go home, grab my two real-life Pokémon — my two little dogs — and cuddle with them and go to sleep,” Johnson said. “That was my next task.”July 24, 2016 at 9:17 pm #1055647GovernorSilver
ParticipantSpeaking of dogs – I’m torn when I watch this – the dog looks happy but, I’m hoping nothing unhealthy was put on him to achieve tha look.
