If you become a definite, I’d like to get 2.
Also, what time would you anticipate arriving? I usually pass Shirlington by 6:30/6:45, but can certainly delay.

ParticipantI assume this is a good place & time to announce my two ideas for pointless prizes that I will buy/make/freegan appropriate prizes for. Terse descriptions:
1: Visit the most States in one ride. Must include DC, VA or MD. A MD, WV, VA, PA ride would count as 4 but a Rhode Island, Mass, Conn, New York, Vermont ride would not count at all. Ties broken by length.
2: Visit the most DC bike shops in a ride. Photo of you or your bike in front of the shop required. Hopefully would get people to search out those small obscure shops. Box Stores would not count. Ties broken by my assessment of shop obscurity or length.December 7, 2015 at 4:26 pm #1042413Tim Kelley

Hey Steve O, we’re flattered, but we can’t actually take credit for leading this ride. From the page you linked, it looks like Renee Yvonne will be putting it on. Looks like fun though, let us know how it goes. Yay for bike culture!

ParticipantI can make another golden ingot for the longest ride on 1/1/16.
Should I stamp Eric’s name into it now and get that part finished?

Hope to see you there.

This sounds awesome and I really enjoyed the film. Unfortunately that would put me out past my bed time, and the last thing I really need is one more thing motivating me to “try” the race. Maybe I’ll try and make it to FridayCoffeeClub if you’ll be there? I’ll pick up a couple

ParticipantI’ll do most climbing for the duration of the contest. I had a great idea last year for a prize and failed miserably when I came down with a flu days prior to the final happy hour. I promise a prize that will help keep you warm up on the top of those hills, too bad you won’t get it until after winter’s over:)

Might add a bonus prize for this one if it turns out to be anyone other than Eric Williams. His ride into PA during BAFS 2015 gave me this idea.

I have a 5 state ride if anyone wants to join me:). Maybe be too cold for that crap but its certainly doable. If fact if you join me you can have the prize. (yes I’m counting DC as a state)

I don’t usually make the Swing’s FCC, but if not, I will transfer some at Java Shack to dcv or dread or KCyndi or someone who is going down there.
Or maybe I’ll make the trip in on Friday to say hi for a change. Either way, the bands will arrive at FCC, The Original.December 7, 2015 at 7:33 pm #1042429Steve O

ParticipantPointless Prizes:
Okay, since everyone always comments about my early commutes, I will sign up to do the “Early Bird” award. This one is easy: Most miles ridden before sunrise.
I think I also want to do a “Flat Lander” award for the person with the least amount of elevation gain compared to miles ridden. I will figure the details of that one out a little later.

Manual entries in Strava always give you zero elevation. You might have to figure out how to deal with that.
