ParticipantThere was one person who got to the MBT this morning before I did. Still trying to decide if the relatively mediocre studded tires helped at all…I’d say no in the trail, but yes to the icy ruts on 8th Street…

ParticipantI was all geared up for my snow ride. Photos were going to be taken, and epic points were to be earned. Right up until my front tire went flat from a pinch flat. I guess I’ve lost my touch with changing tires.
I managed to get in just over a mile for the points on the flat front tire, but no photo.

ParticipantFeeling safer because my feet touch the ground but without more tread on the tires I can’t actually ride on the snow. Anybody have some 26”x1.5” knobby tires they want to part with?

Yeah, I was ticked because Strava recorded my usual 1.1 mile ride as a .97 mile ride. Apparently, it discounted the part where I had to get off and walk. That meant I had to go back out and bike up and down the block to get even a sleaze.

ParticipantGRRRRR. What do you have to do these days to get some Strava RESPECT? I record on Garmin, and it downloads to Strava, and recorded my walking of my bike fine, at a killer pace of 2.4 mph. Heck, it was uphill through 8″ of snow…

I always have a close eye on my Garmin. If I’m actually doing a sleaze mile (which is rare), I make sure it has it least 1.1 miles on it. Today was one of those days. I didn’t want to stay out any longer than I had to.
Otherwise I almost always round up to the nearest .1 mile.January 14, 2019 at 3:21 am #1094021Steve O
