    Public Art Evening Group Ride, Shirlington, Sun. 3/16, 7pm – Save the Date!

    @boomer2u
      has graciously agreed to lead a ride to view some of Arlington’s public art that’s lit up at night. We’ll gather at the Shirlington Library (4200 Campbell Ave, Arlington, 22206) at 7pm for wheels out at sunset, 7:16pm. This will be a flat 14 mile no-drop ride. Here’s a link to the RWGPS route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49882075

    Shirlington has plenty of free public parking, and options for food before or after the ride. The ride is open to anyone in BAFS and friends, whether playing #publicartfinder or not. I hope to see you on the 16th!

    Geodesic Dome at Dulany Park, US Patent & Trademark Office campus in Alexandria VA. Although Buckminster Fuller was not the original inventor, he is credited with the U.S. popularization of the idea for which he received U.S. patent 2682235A on 29 June 1954. The geodesic dome appealed to Fuller because it was extremely strong for its weight, its “omnitriangulated” surface provided an inherently stable structure, and because a sphere encloses the greatest volume for the least surface area.
