I like how you think! I had to google the park to see where it was located. Nice find!

Here are the rules (snipped for brevity):

    • You will only receive credit for one park for each Strava ride. If you go to multiple parks within a day, each park must be accounted for on separate Strava rides.

I hope you can find a few new parks in your travels by bike. If there is something special that you would like to share about the park, especially the smaller, less known parks (has multiple walking trails, great picnic shelters, can rent boats) you can include it in the “description” section so the rest of us can learn more about the park and, perhaps, decide to make that park as destination.

Have fun finding new parks for recreation and relaxation!!

As a park lover, I love this game. I love it so much that I started gaming the system as well by splitting up all my rides between parks so that they’re their own ride on Strava. It might kill my average mile per ride, but it’ll up my park finder count!!!

For clarification, do “Park and Ride”s count as parks? I mean, they’re publicly run, they’re infrastructure and they contribute to the environmental well-being by removing cars from the roads, right?!?  :p

Very innovative thoughts….. I would consider a “Park and Ride” lot to just be a designation of the type of the “parking lot” and not an actual park that can be counted in ParkFinder.

I’m glad you are enjoying the game. As I ride around searching for parks I am amazed at the number of parks that I was not familiar with in our area. I can understand how it is killing your average mile per ride. :)

This is a very small park tucked in a neighborhood.

I’m enjoying this. Although it’s more fun when you just stumble on something that looks like a park and then check it out to see if it is.

I know I only get credit for one, but I found two today.

Charles W Hill Park, Alexandria City.

This park is an historical landmark. Anyone know why? (I do.)

And if you follow the path, it looks like this;-)

… and discover that it is high ground in Pimmit Hills, which is why Fairfax County has a water [emoji97] tank that supplies all the homes down below!

If anyone is ever riding out this way (PHX area), avoid this trail at all costs!! It is hard to follow, parts are dirt and gravel, and there are some major roads to cross with no help at all. Luckily, I only got lost a few times and did not get hit by a car!
Oh, and ps. I had mapped this out for my Garmin, and I still got lost. It is that confusing.
