Prospect Hill Park. Look closely and you can see the AF Memorial, too.

Today I rode through Central Park and Randall’s Island Park (both already claimed). On my way between the two I stopped in Thomas Jefferson Park in East Harlem.

Must be trash day because the entrance at E 111th St also had several bags by the sign.

I don’t know if gardening qualifies as “recreation” for this pointless prize, but then I’m not trying to claim this “park” today. There are three other community gardens within two blocks of this one, the “Pleasant” comes from Pleasant Ave that runs from E 114th to E 120th. They don’t use the word “Park” in their names.

The lovely Lake Fairfax Park, home to the Water Mine and great mountain bike trails (and a pump track). Also camping spots available and ball fields for all kind of sports. Plus, when we can have CCX, one of the most fun venues for CCX races as there are many great places for spectators to see what’s going on.

The other (mountain biking) entrance is near The Bike Lane store, but the sign isn’t cool like this one. :-) Of course, a lot less goose poop over on that side too. The Canada geese in the non-wooded areas of this park are out of control.

    #ParkFinder – Pike Park.

Even though the Walgreen’s sign takes center stage, this green space on the corner of Walter Reed Drive and Columbia Pike in Arlington really is a real park, albeit it a small one. They also have a weekly Farmers Market here on Sundays. You can just see my trike flag behind the hedge.

We were smart today – headed east on the W&OD and took credit for doing patrol. With that nice tailwind, we did it in record time. Of course, the lunching and then the Metro getting back made it a long day…

One of my favorite places for hiking. Not so much fun when on a bike in the 20’s with 30+mph winds.

Parque Dos de Mayo named after an uprising in 1808. A rebellion by the people of Madrid against the occupation of the city by French troops.

The Hectorball was hidden in Bren Mar Park, so I may as well get a pic of the sign while I’m here:
