Thor, time to start cropping/splitting your rides in Strava if you want to be competitive. Gotta minimize your miles per park. Or more effectively, don’t tag your rides until the last day or so, so that others remain complacent.
I have to object to this strategy, as it is poor gameplay at best. Last year’s winner cropped and posted 60+ rides during the last hour of the competition, and blew everyone away. I went to bed at 11pm with a ~30 park cushion on the closing BAFS2020 Eve, and woke up 30+ behind.
Good sportsmanship would dictate that you post your hashtagged rides on a daily basis, and not store them up to crop and sandbag the competition on the closing eve of #BAFS2021.
But maybe that’s just me, and my perception of fair play…

ParticipantCatching up on new2me parks from this past week, all of which I did not claim during #BAFS2020, as I want to challenge myself this year to seek out parks that I missed last year.
Waverly Park, while hunting mailboxes in Vienna, adjacent (but not reachable from) the W&OD trail…
While on TyCo Westpark Wormhole exploration…
Humes Springs Citizen Park, while on recon of the “Sound of Music” wormhole in Del Ray, Alexandria VA…

ParticipantAccidentally stumbled upon this park on my ride today when I made a wrong turn and ran into a dead end… where I discovered Dowden Terrace Park. It’s located at the dead end on Bouffant Blvd in Alexandria.

ParticipantThe Wanda Stadium has a park that stems the length of the northwest side! Kids at play, adults jogging or walking and a bike path runs thru the middle.

I like that perception Boomer. Also, since the purpose of BAFS is to get people out to ride daily as much as possible, one “find” per day should count for any of the pointless prizes. I like that the photo of the day requires posting that day as it not only motivates me to ride early but to get it posted. I also like that he DQ’s multiple photos. It’s a good system and seems quite fair.
But then again, this is supposed to be pointless.

ParticipantToday I rode through Central Park and Randall’s Island Park (both already claimed). On my way between the two I stopped in Thomas Jefferson Park in East Harlem.
Must be trash day because the entrance at E 111th St also had several bags by the sign.
I don’t know if gardening qualifies as “recreation” for this pointless prize, but then I’m not trying to claim this “park” today. There are three other community gardens within two blocks of this one, the “Pleasant” comes from Pleasant Ave that runs from E 114th to E 120th. They don’t use the word “Park” in their names.

Participant#ParkFinder – Rockwell Field – a park that was donated to Arlington County by the Rockwell family. This is along the Fillmore bike Trail, also known as the Lyon Park Bike Trail in North Arlington that goes between the Service Road on Route 50 through and ends up on Fillmore Street just across from the actual Lyon Park.
