Pointless Prize – ParkFinder

Although this Pointless Prize competition ended in March, I wanted to submit this entry anyway.

I must admit this park was a severe disappointment. There was no grass, no trees, no greenery whatsoever. It was underground, too, so not even any sunlight. And unlike other parks I’ve seen that have been mostly hard surfaces, there were no basketball hoops or tennis courts – nothing at all to use for recreation. Maybe a creative group could make some sort of underground cyclo-cross course out of it; worth a thought perhaps.

Oddly, though, there were a lot of cars there. I don’t know what these people were doing at this park, but it seemed like it was pretty popular. Beats me.

So I wouldn’t recommend making a special trip or anything to get to this park.

Today’s park finder: Charles Hill Park in the Town of Potomac, Del Ray, Alexandria. Named for a fallen police officer, it was once home to a racetrack and now has many treehouses throughout.
