Winter riding often prompts terse thoughts about riding in the cold, wet, and wind. And because misery loves company (why else are we here?), I thought we could share our pithy thoughts in the form of a Haiku contest on the theme of Riding a Bike in Winter. Celebrate the misery, joy, fun, silliness, or whatever moves you about riding in the winter in the form of a Haiku — a three line poem of seventeen syllables written in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables each — to be posted in this thread. The deadline for submissions is March 15 with the winner to be announced by the end of BAFS. I, perhaps with the help of a select committee, will judge the winner based on wholly subjective criteria, including coffee snorts and artistic awe, and will award a prize of suitable beauty.
Here is my Haiku that got me thinking about this contest:
Spinning faster still
Hoping to staunch the stream
Flowing down my noseI know you can do better!
