Pointless prize: Expand your horizons (420)

Here’s a brand new pointless prize.

Now that cannabis dispensaries are everywhere, find one on your bike ride and take a picture of it. I’m thinking that getting your bike in the picture could be tricky, so that won’t be required. If you can manage it, go for it. I can only assume that someone who plays along isn’t cheating.

Only one location per day, per person. If you see two, go back another day. No posting the same location again, either.

Posting to this thread won’t be required, but it could make things a bit more fun. Use the hashtag #420 in your Strava ride and include your picture on your ride.

As usual with my prizes, I have no idea what the top prizes will be. lol, maybe a gummy bear?

p.s. All participants must be at least 21 years or older!

I’m glad there is a bit of interest. I would also like to point out that I’m not really a zonked out druggie, but I do enjoy amusing banter on Strava and on here. I’m interested in the ever changing laws here in the US relating to this. The Washington Post just recently had a main page story about the industry:

Dispensary density in DC is much higher than in VA. This one used to be a Rite Aid, I believe.

I found one unexpectedly in Falls Church today. I saw it from the wooden bridge over Broad Street & hadda turn around and go back. I got a nice picture of a sign for this place on the sidewalk with a pot leaf on it – but my husband thinks this storefront pic is better

Unfortunately, it’s inside a building with enough security that I couldn’t get in to take a picture of the door. But there is a listing for it on the directory.

I admit to having a touch of wistfulness about this one. I grew up in the 60s. At least I think I did — as they say, if you remember the 60s, you were never really there. I haven’t partaken since 1975. But I have to say, I always preferred the atmosphere at parties where marijuana was served than at ones where alcohol is served.

Not much THC, but plenty of CBD. And other herbal remedies. More of a new age than stoner vibe. Let’s just say I’m skeptical regarding the effectiveness of these remedies.

I think it’s people trying to cash in on the trend. The 7/11’s and High’s are all selling CBD. Some people swear by CBD for certain types of pain and others get nothing out of it.

The smoke shops that Nadine posted are a similar trend. But they’re going for the wild side as opposed to the herbal side. Like you, I also have doubts about many of these places. I’m quite confident I would never even set foot in a smoke shop.

Yup, living outside of Portland now. There’s some fancy shops out here.

Todays destination, but not 100% sure it counts. Thought it had CBD but it’s not on the outside sign. It does carry bongs and pipes though…
