ParticipantI’m in! The desire to move more (and the hope that this would impact weight a bit) was one of my motivations for joining FS!
Goal- 125, starting weight 143.

Anyone interested in a pointless prize for shedding the pandemic pudge?
Start by declaring your weight loss goal and current weight, then check in weekly? If you are really sensitive about sharing your weight, you can state your goal in number of pounds you intend to lose and check ins can be the number of lbs lost. Rules are open to suggestions for a few weeks at least.
I will come up with some sort of (funny) prize(s)for everyone that hits their goal, for those that go the opposite way, for the most pounds lost, and for the highest body weight percentage lost.

What are all yall’s strategies? I’m using myfitnesspal to count macros… Anyone doing intermittent fasting? What about something unusual like a cabbage diet?
Mostly my strategy is “freezing saddles” – going from basically no exercise to 5-10 hours a week. Seems like if I don’t scale up my calorie intake too much, this alone should give me at least a pound a week of loss.
I am making more of an effort to stop eating at “not hungry” instead of “full” and some (inconsistent) food journaling to become more aware of the amount and relative quality of snacking. Oh, and cutting down, though not eliminating, alcohol.

ParticipantJust saw this and figured I will joined in on the fun and hopefully get some weight loss out of this because by signing up this will hold me accountable. I’ve been keeping track of my weight with my new digital awesome weight scale. My start of weight on January 1st is 142 lbs. As of today I weight in at 138.4 lbs. I’m hoping to lose 20 lbs by the end of the freezing saddle.

ParticipantStarting weight was 205
As of yesterday: 200.I’m feeling pretty good about this. Especially since it’s been a rough couple of weeks emotiionally. Also, I ate all the little debbie stuff during my ride yesterday. Hoping that I can keep the willpower to have another week of losing!
BTW, it’s inspiring to see all the folks here working on attaining their healthy weight. Keep up the good work!

At 226.8 this morning. Still keeping up with MyFitnessPal and walking more. Added some yoga 2-3 times a week and trying to take evening volunteer type meetings while pedaling on the trainer.

Thank you! It’s coming off much faster than I thought. I’m sure I’m due a plateau before long. Until then, I am ecstatic with my results. I made my way below 30 BMI (obese) and am just overweight now.
Still a ways to go to get below overweight, but I’ll keep working it.

That sounds like my “strategy.” I had hormone sensitive breast cancer in 08 and apparently keeping excess weight to a bare minimum is important for avoiding recurrence because [emoji2358] fat contains estrogen.
What has been working for me seems to be a combination of biking and bad digestion (which some of the treatments seem to either cause or worsen.) So a cabbage diet might just get some of you the rest of the way there. [emoji1785][emoji2358]I REALLY don’t recommend it though. [emoji38][emoji1361]
I just found this pointless prize thread & thought I’d come say good luck to you all. I hope you get there a more fun way than ^^that ^^. [emoji16] Also I hope you take this as the lighthearted encouragement I intended. [emoji1]
