What if one lives in a land without pie, but nevertheless a boundless bounty of delicious confectionaries that range from kucken (pie) to tort (cake)?

I think that it’s great that everyone seems to enjoy celebrating math by eating pi(e) on 3/14, and please don’t let me take away from Sunyata’s prize… but did you know that National PIE Day actually falls on my birthday – January 23rd? ;)

So here, let me come up with a second pointless prize that’s all about pie. :) Because, who minds more pie?

Post a bikey-type picture of you or a group of you enjoying pie to this thread on my birthday – January 23rd, and whichever picture amuses me the most will win a pie-related prize. This idea is very spur of the moment, but it could be a good pie server, a pie plate, or maybe even a pie baked by me (I make some good pie).

Thank you in advance for bringing cheer to my birthday, and thank you to Sunyata for the inspiration. :)

    Let it snow!

    Yasssssssss!!!!! More pie!

If you find a beautiful apfelkuchen, I will consider that.

Pictures were posted on the parallel thread. Hope they still count.

Happy Birthday!! To honor this special day I took a short spin from my office in Crystal City to the Whole Foods in Pentagon City to eat some pumpkin pie for lunch. Maybe I’ll share one of the slices with one my bikey co-workers, maybe not… :) Hope you have a great birthday!

What do you do if they won’t sell you a slice of pie after riding 20 miles of rutted ice to get there (I can’t eat a whole nine inch pie on my own)? I had to settle for an apple dumpling at Lewis Farms in Southington, CT, When I googled “pie” for the Hamden area, everyhing that came back was for pizza????? Maybe I could have had the small cottage pie for lunch, or maybe the diner next door has pie, but I wouldn’t be riding my bike there.

Mournful picture of pie on my desk, when I’m still stuck in the office at 8:25 pm and can’t get to my bike.

Took a nice 24 mile ride to Acme Pie Co after work. Had a savory pie (Italian Quiche) and a sweet pie (Sour Cherry Streussel) to celebrate.
