In an effort to capitalize on the spirit and energy that is Freezing Saddles to get more butts on bike, I’m offering up a Prize with a Point.

Time frame: Now until April 30.

Task: Get five adults who haven’t ridden a bike in at least a year [honor system] to go on a ride (at least one mile). It’s up to you if you tell them it’s a Sleaze Ride or not. The five can be achieved all at once or on multiple trips (like five separate trips with different individuals).

Proof: Post photo of said lapsed riders.

Prize: Highly coveted BikeArlington bib shorts [modeled below by random internet guy I found on some website]. And for each of your new riders, we’ll also give you a BikeArlington Starter kit to include: Copy of Elly Blue’s Everyday Bicycling, pair of reflective leg straps, Arlington Comfort Map. Maybe some more random swag. Depends on how we feel and what’s lying around.

Who wouldn’t want a pair of these? (Time trial bike and pie not included).

I am confused after last night — do we need to get three or five people who haven’t ridden in a year?

Do they have to live in Arlington, or is anywhere in the greater DC region okay?

I have one so far, assuming it is not limited to Arlington. If it is . . . well, most the people I know in Arlington are already way over the top cyclists.

Based on my announcement, THREE new riders (def: someone how hasn’t ridden in more than a year).

My intent was Arlington, but I will accept anyone in the DMV area.

How do we prove that we got them out riding? And is there a threshold they have to pass? Is one ride around the neighborhood enough or do they need to go a minimum five miles or something?

I want those BikeArlington bib shorts!

I believe those details were included in the original post.

    Yes. Thanks, Steve.

In review, one mile and a pic. That’s all I’m asking.

Check out this Twitter video. This woman admits she hasn’t ridden a bike in several year, before jumping on a CaBi bike today.
