ParticipantLove Billy Goat Trail… it’s a fun little hike 20 minutes from home. Never biked there though I think I might have to try one of these days.

ParticipantThat’s part of my ride home…I always walk up the path, but I can get up the street okay…but I’ve got a triple with a decent granny gear

ParticipantI didn’t ride there, snuck out of work and threw my bike in the trunk of my friend’s car. It was a good ride back on a beautiful evening. I’ve seen people chain their bikes to trees at trail entrances.
I wouldn’t want to have the 41 st hill as part of my commute. I’ll stick with the two sisters on the Custis trail at Glebe Rd.

I am lucky enough to have the choice of 41st OR two sisters for my commute. I fully expect to one of these days see my heart explode out of my chest, Alien-style. That would at least be a spectacular way to go…

I was about to say most impressive riding that whole trail. I hiked it a ton growing up and still hike it a few times a year now. Weekdays are good to avoid the huge crowds that have developed over the years.

ParticipantLiving in MD, I don’t get the “opportunity” much to climb 41st St. But I’ve attempted it twice on two different recumbents. Got as far as the hard left turn on the trail and couldn’t make the turn at such a low speed without keeling over. Someday I’ll try it on a regular bike and see if it makes a difference.

that’s funny I have referred to them plus the 2 preceeding hills as the 4 sisters. sounds like a trend.
