I can see your point. Since they’re so zoned out, your call just startles and confuses them. For me, more than likely, I’ve known you were approaching for quite some time and the call isn’t telling me something I don’t already know. Because I can hear you and I check my mirror all the time like when I’m driving. So I won’t be wildly swerving into your path. But someone else that does’t have a mirror or isn’t listening for the sound of a bike behind them might not think twice about swerving when you don’t call or ding.
