As several of you have found out the hard way, this forum is inaccessible to anyone abroad.  The reason for this is to avoid the tons of spam the forum gets from out of the country.  However, it has been an inconvenience to several of our participants who are in other countries.  Henry has therefore indicated his willingness to whitelist countries in which our participants are currently located.  I know that @bikingjenn is currently in Mexico.  Any others?  (Yes, I know they won’t see this, but I’m hoping that people who know them can respond here.)

Have any of our people abroad tried a VPN? Not a bad thing for everyone to know how to use these days. Here’s a writeup of VPNs if you don’t know what they are. It comes from a VPN company but it’s a pretty good basic overview.

Echoing that a VPN is probably a more sustainable solution (especially since whitelisting certain countries here or there seems like a workload nightmare), an incomplete list can be found on the Freezing Saddles website.  If you scroll out on the map on the website, you can see where people have recorded rides today.  Besides Mexico, it looks like we have someone in the UK, plus of course the Belgium-based der Bierpuncheur.  (There’s also someone in Guam, but that’s not out of “country” so should be OK, right?)

I think Chris Watson uses a VPN when she’s in Spain.
