Papillon Cycles Fireworks Ride

Bonjour! Papillon Cycles, Arlington, continues their tradition of a ride to the fireworks on the Mall. Long Bridge Park, at the northern tip of Crystal City, has proven to be an excellent venue to watch, if you don’t want to wade too deeply into the spectating traffic elsewhere. Restrooms and *food trucks*. Oh yeah, entertainment too. We are using the Four Mile Run Trail and dedicated bike lanes in Pentagon City/Crystal City to sidestep the worst of the automotive traffic, and you get a nice moonlight ride back to the shop!

*THIS IS A NIGHT RIDE*. Lights required. (I should not have to harp on that in *this* place).

As of last night, I had 14 attendees. Delight! Horror! If any of the experienced hands here want to ride with us, I will gleefully accept any & all marshaling help, especially if I have children on the ride.

I am a strong maybe for now, but will try to have an answer by this evening. I am seeing if I can talk my husband into coming. Even if he isn’t up for it, the fact you may need a ride marshal is pushing me to the “Yes” side. (I happen to be a ride marshal! :cool:)

Update: I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend afterall. My idiot brother didn’t finalize whether or not he was throwing a BBQ until late in the afternoon, and I promised I’d go.
