Our Very Own Tim Kelley To Compete in the Ironman US Championship Next Weekend

Tim is part of Bike Arlington’s professional staff. You may have seen him at Bike Arlington events or riding around town. He’s slightly above average in height.

He is an extraordinary athlete and is about to demonstrate his extra specialness by competing in the Ironman US Championship on August 11th in New York. http://ironmanuschampionship.com/

In case you don’t know about Ironman events let me explain what this ultra endurance race involves:
1. Swim 2.4 miles in the Hudson River
2. Bike 112 miles along the Palisades Interstate Parkway
3. Run 26.2 miles starting with a climb and accruing more than 1400 feet of elevation over the distance.

And this isn’t Tim’s first Ironman.

I want to send him my best wishes for a great race! I’m very proud to know him and I admire his dedication to the training he has completed in order to tackle this event.

1 – less urine and more just trying to stay cool
2 – finish line energy is amazing
3 – go aero or go home
4 – not sponges, just handfuls of ice
11 – See bee reference
14 – all white kit, but with black fabric in strategic places
