I fell hard today when my trailer flipped as I was going fast around a corner. It prevented me from completing the turn in the space available and I plowed into the curb. I went over the handlebars. My hand is bruised, my knee a little bloody and I think I bruised a rib if you get my drift. I know the treatment for a cracked rib is the same as for a bruised one, suck it up and keep going, so that’s what I did. I trued the rear wheel but the rim is now bent and the spokes forcing it straight might start breaking. I hope not. At least I didn’t tear my pants or gloves.
Just thought I’d share the highlight of my ride. I must say crashing is exciting and makes an ordinary day special with memories you will keep for a while. I don’t like the pain and disabling injury that sometimes accompany crashes, or the damage to equipment and clothing, but I guess I got away with relatively little damage this time.
I knew I should have ate black eyed peas on New Years Day. I’m having some tonight. I hope it’s not too late.
