ParticipantAnyone caught riding on the wrong side of the river should have their “freezing saddles” wrist/ankle bands and/or zipper tags confiscated (and freely distributed on the right side of the river)

ParticipantI always ride on the correct side of the river. East side when riding upstream, and west side when riding downstream. I wouldn’t want to salmon on the Potomac.

ParticipantI’m also a PG County rider (there are a bunch of us along the Anacostia Trail System).

ParticipantI am told I am part of the “Freezing Saddles cabal,” and I always ride on the east side of the river (mostly the Capital Crescent Trail), so it can’t be all that wrong! If it is, I’ll just randomly change the rules for next year.

Rude. Frankly I could talk a lot about how urban planning has historically been used to socially engineer, socio/economically discriminate, and assess arbitrary moral judgements to geographical features so that we have terms such as “wrong side” or “right side”, but I don’t want to even go into it here. I’ll leave my statement unamended- “rude”.

ParticipantYou have the freedom to ride whichever way gets you where you need to go. I love that about cycling!

Apologies if my banter and jesting offended you; was not my intent. Have a nice BAFS2020 season [emoji1431]
