ParticipantIt’s 100°F out and you’re thinking about Moose Mitts. Did the images of snow and ice in your mind help cool you down? You’re my kind of rider!

ParticipantBikeman has Lake winter cycling boots on sale.

ParticipantDo they have the all weather ones that are supposed to be good in the rain too?

Link please…. I rode out to Vienna at noon today and kept thinking that this want so bad. As long as I kept moving. Having frozen feet is FAR worse than this heat.

I agree. I prefer to deal with the heat than the 0F wind chills of January.

http://www.bikeman.com/ Their menus are pretty good and you can find the winter shoe section pretty easily. I ordered the set of roadie winter shoes that I’ve wanted for a while. Very nice!

ParticipantI ordered my Moose Mitts last year in the middle of winter – poor timing on my part. By the time I received my mitts I probably only got about 2 weeks use out of them before the weather started improving. So now may actually be a great time to buy!
Also two thumbs up for bikeman.com. I ordered a pair of Shimano winter boots from them last year. Great service and I’ve been very satisfied with the boots too!

ParticipantAw, yeah, thinking cold. I love it! Don’t think I’m gonna do Moose Mitts, but I do think I’m finally gonna go for the lobster gloves. Seems they’re always available.

ParticipantHow well do the lobster gloves hold up in 0F temperatures? I may have to get a pair for this winter.

ParticipantI’ve never found a glove that can handle the temperature range of the moose mitts. I love thinking about cold stuff on days like this.

ParticipantAll I know is that my current gloves are not up to the task. They are fine for the usual winter days in the 20s and 30s. But on those few days when it dipped below 15F, they didn’t help much at all.
Maybe I’ll look into the Moose Mitts for my mtn bike. But not right now. I have some other goodies on my immediate shopping list.

ParticipantDirt, do you have the drop down version? I have the older version for my hybrid and love it. Is so warm I don’t even wear gloves sometimes.

I have the drop bar version of the moose mitts. I also have the drop-bar version of Bar Mitts. Both are great. The Bar Mitts are probably warmer, but the Moose Mitts give me more options with how I grab the handlebars.

ParticipantWith my MM, I can brake outside of the mitts. Can you do that on the drop down version? I need a solution for my cycle version.
