I just received an email from one of the BikeWalk KC people asking for our help with this month’s Clif challenge (http://www.2milechallenge.com). These good folks in Kansas City were really grateful for the challenge support we gave their organization a couple of months ago, and now mention that they would not even exist but for the startup grant given to them by the Alliance for Biking and Walking, which will be the recipient of this month’s challenge donation.
Eric writes: “The Alliance is a DC based organization that helps develop local and state bike/ped organizations. Fantastic organization that does great work and could use all the help we can get to them. BikeWalkKC would not exist (literally – they awarded a startup grant to us two years ago.)”
Let’s work together to make biking safer for everyone! Please log as many trips as you can this month, and if you haven’t yet signed up for this challenge, please consider doing so. Trips of any length, even 1 mile, result in funds for great organizations that help cyclists. The “2 mile” moniker is simply to encourage people to consider biking when they might have used a car for short distances.
