Lots of new fresh paving on the W&OD from Herndon out at least to Smiths Switch (the equipment was still parked by the trail the night before last, so they may be paving even further out before they’re done.)

Why, oh why, do the MUPs in Arlington get no love?

While there have been two or three sections redone in the past four years, I don’t remember anything this year and we still have all the mogul patches that were in worse shape than what was redone. I still gripe about Arlington County repaving the Bluemont parking lot and the Bon Air tennis and basketball court which had nothing really wrong with them when there are so many trails which really need work (I think these come out of the same funding pot).

Well, since I’m from Fairfax, which has a multi-decadal trail paving program, having something done in the past few years counts as “just”. Also, this year, last year, and the year before are a somewhat hazy time called “just”, with times further back known as “a while ago”. :)
