NPS to recruit border collies to chase away Canada geese from Nat’l Mall

They are taking comments on the proposal to enlist border collies to shoo away Canada geese from the monuments, memorials and the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall. I think it’s an interesting idea. Some of the grassy areas turn into geese poop fields. NPS also says that the droppings can damage the water filters for the Reflecting Pool. No geese would be harmed under the plan.

Why refer to them as geese? Wouldn’t it be more appropriate to refer to them as “ambulatory poop machines”?

Or, alternatively, “tasty at Christmas”?

+1 for using the proper term, Canada Geese and not “Canadian Geese”, as many people call them.

An old boss of mine (Canadian) used to get really annoyed by this.
