ParticipantYes, it’s a good ride if you throw in Sugarloaf too.

Yes, and I recall a few forum threads on the bridge crossing at Point of Rocks that you could probably search for.

ParticipantI rode it a few weeks ago… similar to the route that Tim pointed out. I was riding fixie and didn’t want to hit 41st street at mile 120, so I rode into Georgetown and then took the MVT and W&OD home. Doing that to finish out the loop linked below, I think the mileage came out to 138 miles.

ParticipantSome of the roads have a fairly high speed limit (50mph) but the shoulders were pretty wide. I didn’t have a problem. Drivers were polite and gave me room too. It was a nice day on the bike.

ParticipantThanks a bunch my bike brothers. Now I have something to show my bro-in-law/poseur roadie. Baptism by fire is looming. See you guys on the next Dom Boonen Gran Fondo.

Dirt, can you eat as much of anything as you want? Lordy, you must be constantly burning a lot of calories.

I’m the place where calories go to die. I manage to drink enough beer to compensate.
But seriously… I had some injury issues a decade or so ago that had me pretty dang overweight. I think my mileage the last 4 or 5 years has been an infantile reaction to that. I’m down 60 pounds from my previous heaviest.

ParticipantI didn’t make it to Sugarloaf with you guys on that ride. My rear derailleur cable snapped on the shifter side @ mile 30ish. So I had to single speed it back to the parking lot.
