RodSmith, dcv and I tackled the Nova Epic on cross bikes and hybrids today. We opted for the 40 mile route and the cross bikes were definitely the right choice. Super good times! Can we go play in the dirt a little more often please?

One of many water crossings and one of the few that Rod didn’t ride through!

Great ride, will do again. Cyndi got a flat, Rod rode this as part of his century and I took a digger.

First single speed, first woman and first hybrid rider (haha) to finish the 40 mile course.

Success, yes, but getting to the finish three hours before they tapped the keg was a fail. 😎

Rode the 62 with txgoonie. Definitely a tough day. The heat was sucking the energy out of me, and we got lost a few times.

I completed the 40 on my cross as well and the roots a rocks towards the end rubbed my palms pretty raw. I also fell a good 5 times due to stubbornness and not wanting to pick my bike up over obstacles.

I also happened to be recording during one of those falls.. http://youtu.be/i5arU_SsJr0?t=3m9s
It was quite graceful if I say so myself!

I happened to be recording during my first fall. The angle and noise are bad, but atleast the fall was graceful!
