Hi Sam, let me be the first to welcome you.

I am currently going crazy on a beautiful day while recovering from a foot injury and watching everyone else ride, but it shouldn’t be long before I see you out there.

    Hello Bikearlington Forum Folks,
I am new to the area, moved to DC Fall 2018 and have just located this forum. Interest in cycling as a long time bike mechanic, commuter and early (’86) mountain biker and courier (in the frigid North, good times).

Looking for offroad trails and opportunities to help out in the community.

    Cheers!

    Sam

If you want to meet up with other commuters for coffee in the mornings, there are opportunities every single day of the week.
    Check the calendar.
Also, social rides, happy hours, advocacy meetings and other bikey stuff.

If you are still into mountain biking (alas, my old bones have become too fragile to risk them on the rock-filled trails of Gambrill) and haven’t already, you should check out M.O.R.E. (The Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts). And yes, as Steve O mentioned, stop by for coffee sometime.

I’m new here (the forum but not the area) but not new to mountain biking. KWL hit the nail on the head with MORE as a mountain resource. There is fantastic riding not far from the city and everything from rooty, rocky trails to smooth and flowy trails within about an hour of the city. Now, if it would stop raining long enough for the trails to dry so we could all go hit the trails…
