New Fairfax County Bike Maps!

I just heard that Fairfax County is reprinting bike maps in the next week or so and after making more than 125 changes/updates is also now using the same color scheme that Arlington County and Capital Bikeshare use to designate routes on our maps. Awesome!

Awesome! I think I wrote to them twice over the past couple of years asking that they adopt the same color scheme. I’m sure others requested that as well. I’m so glad they decided to do that!

Are they going to make more user-friendly PDF versions too? The last time I checked out their online maps, the PDF files were extremely large and clunky. Every time I zoomed in on a section of the map, my computer would hang up for a minute or two as it tried to reload the large document. (I guess it’s not that important to me, though. I don’t ride around Fairfax that often, other than occasional trips on the W&OD.)
