Wow, that thing is sexy. The smartphone integration is especially cool.

It looks really appealing, but I do have a few questions (the comments section says only backers can comment). Will the cameras have the wide-angle (170 degree) 960p video as an option? The sample image of the smartphone app with the dualview does not show each camera in 1080p view (both are in portrait and not the landscape), so it makes me think it will be a possibility. Also, concerning the adjustable camera position, how sturdy are they? Would I hit a pothole (or bump against a rock face while rock-climbing) and find out later (not having my smartphone app out and displaying the camera view) that the cameras have been jostled out of position? Last question: how impact-resistant will it be? It looks sleek but not strong.

I just bought a helmet camera a few weeks ago, but if the price stays low enough it’s looking like I might have to use my current one as a back-up. The dualview 1080p camera is very enticing.

finally, someone is doing the helmet cam correctly!

They have a twitter feed you can ask questions on, https://twitter.com/spectacam

“Spectacam will be designed to pass at least an IP55 (ingress protection rating) which will make it dust and water resistant.”

I’m excited about this, I’ve wanted a camera for a while but don’t really like the GoPro form factor. I like the Contour cameras more, but this spectacam thing is perfect. Front and rear cameras, with the adjust-ability, sleek form factor, decent IP rating, phone controlled… too good to pass up.

This does look pretty cool. Front+rear cams and wireless/live control via smartphone for $200. I would also be a little concerned with the ability to handle vibrations too.

You can ask questions at the bottom of the page (there is a big blue button), or shoot questions via facebook…

Hey everyone, thanks for your interest in our dual camera. We’re very excited to be working on this project and thank you for your support. You’ve asked some great questions that I answered and put up in our FAQ section on Kickstarter and on our website Spectacam.com

    Happy and safe riding,
