NeverWet: The ultimate water repellant

I seem to remember some discussion about this a while back, before this product was publicly available. As I was reading through this, I thought “well, looks like this wouldn’t be much use for any bike applications”. But then it struck me that it might be useful to spray on shoes for riding in the rain/mud, but if your socks get wet, that pretty much defeats the whole purpose. Any other ideas?
