    Welcome Daniel.

We’d need to know how old your daughter is and what kind of riding she’d do – how many miles a week, trails or street, etc. And how long would you want the bike to last before she either outgrows it or it breaks down and costs more to repair than it’s worth.

Walmart has a Huffy Cranbrook for $100, which looks similar. I would worry about the assembly of a Walmart or Amazon.com bike (Bolts not appropriately tightened, not enough grease in hubs and headset, untrue wheels, etc.). Bikesdirect.com is more reputable as an internet bicycle seller. baiskeli is right about thinking about the bicycle’s likely use before purchase.

[Insert patently obvious joke about Dismal bringing up bikesdirect.com.]

    Cranbrook? That’s a private school!

To add to the predictable responses, I would recommend Islabikes for great kid bikes — http://www.islabikes.com/us/index.html .

Yup more expensive … but still cheaper than Assos bib shorts!

    But mostly left.

Back to the original post… If you don’t know what kind of bike to buy, I would suggest shopping at bike shops. Personally, it would be highly unlikely for me to choose that style (26″, cruiser, single speed with coaster brake) of bike.
