GuestI am traveling from Los Angeles to attend the National Bike Summit in March. I will be by myself, involved with the California delegation. I will be arriving Monday night March 7th, leaving Friday March 11.
I am interested in all aspects of cycling: commuting, recreation, touring, and bicycle education. I am a League Cycling Instructor.
I am an elementary school teacher, looking forward to bringing our cycling message to congress.
I am interested if you have a space for a homestay for me during this visit.
Thank you.

ParticipantMy wife, Tamara, and I will be driving from Colorado Springs to attend my 7th National Bike Summit. We will meet Allen Beauchamp who is flying out. The three of us are looking for a RAGBRAI type homestay. Anything from a spot in the hallway to place our sleeping bags will do. We will attend the LAB Annual meeting on March 8th and will be riding recumbent bikes in the Congressional Caucus Ride on Friday. We need lodging for the nights of 7-9 March.
Thanks

ParticipantI too am looking for a homestay option. I am a 49-yr old, married, avid cyclist (do I even need to say that?), bringing sleeping bag, and happy with just a little floor space. I love pets, so if you have some, and they do not mind company, pls contact me. Also, I make THE best oatmeal cookies in the world, and am not afraid to bring some, as bribery for the distinct honour of staying insomeone’s DC home for the Bike Summit days. Attaching a pic of me & my hubby, but he is staying home, and it is just me in need of a homestay option.

Co-Chair Bike Colorado SpringsHi
I live 3 miles outside of DC and can host a couple at our house. Right now the basement is available. Our backyard is against the park where I ride to work. Let me know if you’re interested.

Bike-Walk Alliance of New HampshireI am 3 miles outside of DC in Maryland. I can offer a place in the basement or possibly upstairs. My wife and I have a 3 BR house right on the park. I ride to work down the parkway. Let me know if you are interested.

ParticipantI live in north DC, easy access to metro and safe cycling routes into DC and elsewhere. I have a considerable amount of floor space for “campers” plus plenty of parking if you need, on and off street. Email: leisagrant

ParticipantAl et al,
I am in North DC. I fear the hallway is a bit narrow so you will have to sleep in the living room ;o) Former Coloradoan here btw. (303) 717-1076 Cheers, Leisa

ParticipantMy wife and I would be happy to host up to two cat-friendly, non-smoking people at our house in Arlington, located just a couple of blocks from the junction of the Four Mile Run and Bluemont Junction trails (i.e. about a 9 or so mile ride down the Custis Trail to D.C. and the conference hotel), about two miles from either Ballston or East Falls Church metro stations, and accessible by Metrobus or car. We can offer air beds, sheets, towels, and food, not to mention indoor bike storage, pump, and basic bike maintenance tools.
Contact me offlist at john@bungalow.org if you’re interested.

ParticipantWill be in town for Natl Bike Summit – Need assistance
I’m planning on being in DC for the National Bike Summit, March 8-10. I’ll be arriving on Monday afternoon and leaving Friday morning. Amtrak requires that my bike be in a box. I’d like to find a place to store the box for the week. I would have to have access to it Friday morning to be able to pack my bike. The closer to the Amtrak station the better. Any suggestions?February 22, 2011 at 9:20 pm #925106baiskeli
ParticipantMark,
There’s a BikeStation at Union Station, they might store it or give you advice.
