ParticipantWell that’s just terrible news for any clubs wishing to shore up their banks sometime in September.
May looks like it was WAAS’ lowest mileage month this year, are we really more afraid of unending gloom than snowbanks and ice?

ParticipantLowest mileage month? I can only think of one reason, the NBC website redesign. We had over 300 contributing riders last year, now we have 170ish. I hope the rest will find their way back. TODAY!
I had to log out then sign back in before my Strava auto-syncing resumed. I fear others are having similar problems probably not even knowing their miles aren’t being counted. Everyone who wants to participate, please check to see if you are!

ParticipantHmm. Our team’s points dropped from 130K for the month as of this morning, to 77K for the month this afternoon… Huh? Wha?

ParticipantI’m a bit confused because under the Points column, NBC is displaying my strava miles for the month, roughly 710. But the NBC website is no longer giving points for riding each day… I thought that first mile was supposed to count extra.
Whatevah. Time to get back on the bike!

Apparently this is the reason our team points dropped, although not everyone is affected. They are aware of the problem and are working on it.

ParticipantSo happy you created a team at NBC. This is my 2nd year doing the challenge. I am already on my work team or I would join the Cure Chasers. We use it for a bike challenge at work in September. I think it is a great motivator – I love the leader boards and badges. Last year I made the Platinum and this year my goal is the Diamond.

ParticipantAny chance they can just put in a reasonable cut off, like within 2 weeks? The end of the month thing creates an issue where you have 30 days to log some rides and mere hours to log others…

Strava challenges allow you to upload the ride up to 48 hours after the challenge ends (so, 2 days). I think that is fair, especially since some people may be using a Garmin and may not have internet access when they are out in the wilds of WV… Perhaps we can suggest to NBC that they offer the same grace period.
